Problem: The Compliance Status of any device enrolled into Airwatch was stuck as “Pending Compliance Check”. Email profiles would not install, App Catalog wasn’t working, and the devices would not fully enroll. Upon investigation, I discovered that our Apple APN certificate was expired.

Solution:

**THESE STEPS MUST BE COMPLETED IN THE SAME BROWSER WINDOW AND IN INTERNET EXPLORER. SEPARATE TABS ARE OK**

  1. While logged into the Airwatch console (https://cn705.awmdm.com), look on the left-side menu go to Groups & Settings -> All Settings -> Devices & Users -> Apple -> APNs for MDM. Notice that the certificate has expired by examing the details.
  2. Click ‘Renew’ and follow the process.
  3. At the first step, you’ll be required to download a .PLIST file that will be used for uploading to Apple in order to generate the new certificate.
  1. Click the ‘Go To Apple’ button and login using [email protected] and Vankirk9494 as the password.
  2. DO NOT CREATE A NEW CERTIFICATE. Click ‘Renew’ on the existing certificate. You will now upload the .PLIST from generated from Airwatch.
  3. Once the certificate is generated, download it. You can now continue the process in the Airwatch Console.
  4. Choose to upload the new .PEM file and save your changes. If a device enrolls successfully, then the process was completed correctly.
